Delivered in Dallas, Tx, the boy of Cathedral of Christ preacher, A. R. Holton, Robert Wilson Holton went to Abilene Christian University (Abilene, Tx) where he majored in Talk and Dilemma. He got his initial big break in freshman season when he inserted a MGM Seek out Talent competition and earned a screen check in Hollywood. Despite his early successes he elected to complete university and graduated through the University of Tx. After graduation he proved helpful at WFAA in Dallas and came back to Hollywood, using the stage name “Robert Wilson”. He’s known for having portrayed Jesus Christ in a number of movies including Family members Theater: I Beheld His Glory (1953) (as Robert Wilson), Family members Theatre (1949)’s show “I Beheld His Glory (1953)”, The Living Christ Series (1951) (a 12-show film series) and in addition on stage in “The Pilgrimage Play”. After 16 years in Hollywood he came back to Abilene, Tx to are announcer and sponsor from the “Herald of Truth” radio and Television program. He passed on in Abilene in 1996 and it is buried there. He was an associate from the Highland Chapel of Christ.
