Rollie Totheroh worked seeing that cinematographer on Charles Chaplin’s films for more than 30 years, from the initial shorts in 1915 to Monsieur Verdoux (1947), including most of Chaplin’s masterpieces: A CHILD (1921), The Yellow metal Rush (1925), Town Lights (1931), CONTEMPORARY TIMES (1936) and THE FANTASTIC Dictator (1940). Totheroh was the person with whom Chaplin got the longest functioning relationship, apart from his sibling Syd Chaplin.
