Mini Biography

Rostislav Vladimirovich Zakharov was created in 1907, in Russia. He researched performing and dance in St. Petersburg. From 1930-1936, Zakharov was an acting professional and choreographer in the Kirov Theater in Leningrad (right now Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg). There he choreographed his 1st edition of “Zolushka” (Cinderella) within the music of Sergei Prokofiev. From 1936-1960, Zakharov was the main choreographer in the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. There he aimed and choreographed the definitive edition of “Zolushka” (Cinderella) within the music of Sergei Prokofiev. The Bolshoi Theater production was modified to film Cinderella (1960) starring Raisa Struchkova within the name part. Rostislav Zakharov co-directed the film and in addition added to the script and choreography. From 1951 – 1983 he was a teacher of the Condition Institute of Theatrical Artwork (GITIS) in Moscow. Rostislav Zakharov was granted the State Reward from the USSR (double), he was specified the name of People’s Acting professional from the USSR (1969).
