Susan began her theatrical profession and her lengthy association using the Gate Theater after she graduated from Trinity University in the 1970s. Since that time she has performed leading assignments in the Gate in has by Shakespeare, Wilde, Coward, Ibsen, Beckett, Ayckbourn, Williams, Russell, Hampton, Frank McGuinness and Brian Friel, and in adaptations from Dickens and Austen. She performed May in Footfalls in the Gate’s celebrated Beckett Celebration in NY and London, and filmed Footfalls for the Beckett on Film task. Her function for the Abbey Theater includes Six Heroes searching for an Writer, A Midsummer Evenings Desire, Hedda Gabler and THE WORK Master. Recently in the Gate she made an appearance as Woman Bracknell in The Need for Becoming Earnest, as Mrs. Bennett in Satisfaction and Prejudice (Spoleto Event in Charleston) and Jane Eyre, all aimed by Alan Stanford, with Lia Williams in The Eccentricities of the Nightingale, aimed by Dominic Cooke and in Martin Crimp’s version from the Misanthrope, Pygmalion, aimed by Robin LeFevre and in The Regular Wife, aimed by Alan Stanford. Susan’s film and tv work includes several looks as Nora Clancy in Good Town, many one off dramas, the mini-series Rebel Center (BBC), Bachelor’s Walk (Accomplice/RTE), Resistant (Subotica/RTE), THE BEST Bow Wow (RTE), Fintan Connolly’s feature THE DIFFICULTY With Sex. She lately made an appearance in the part of Angela Gore in Satellites and Meteorites created and aimed by Rick Larkin. Radio appearance consist of Emma Brown, Evenings in the Landscapes of Spain and Resort du Lac for RTE. Susan made an appearance as Stevie in The Goat directed by Michael Barker Caven in the Task Arts Center for Landmark productions and in Teja Verdes for b*spoke Productions also in the Task Arts Center and in The Capturing Gallery directed by Jimmy Fay at Andrew’s Street Theater for Bedrock Theater Company. Susan made an appearance in THE TRICK Backyard directed by Michael Barker Caven for Landmark Producitons, The Continuous Wife directed by Alan Stanford in the Gate Theater, in the Beckett Centenary Festival in the Gate and Barbican theaters, in Bone fragments directed by Bairbre Ni Chaoimh for Calypso Theater Company in the Samuel Beckett Center so that as Fionnuala within the last Times of the Celtic Tiger by Paul Howard directed by Jimmy Fay in the Olympia Theater, Dublin. Latest theatre appearances consist of Brian Friel’s latest edition of Hedda Gabler aimed by Anna Mackmim and Present Laughter aimed by Alan Stanford both in the Gate Theater, Dublin.
