The Viletones are an exceptionally raw and ferocious hardcore punk music group from Toronto, Canada. The group initial produced in 1976. The initial members had been: lead vocalist Steven Leckie (a.k.a. “Nazi Pup”), vocalist/guitarist Freddie Pompeii, vocalist/bassist Chris Paputts (a.k.a. “Chris Hate”), and drummer/vocalist Mike Anderson (a.k.a. “Electric motor X”). The Viletones attained a tremendous quantity of notoriety in punk circles because of their savage no-holds-barred confrontational music, take-no-prisoners intense attitude, and outrageous stage displays (Leckie was infamous for reducing himself on stage during live shows). The group performed a triple costs with fellow Canadian punk clothes Teenage Head as well as the Diodes on the legendary NEW YORK punk membership CBGB from July 7 to July 10 in 1977. The music group released their debut one “Screamin’ Fist/Opportunities & Rebel” independently label Vile Information that same calendar year. The Viletones released the EP “Appear Back Anger” in 1978. Pompeii, Paputts, and Anderson all eventually still left the group. In 1983 the reunited Viletones released the full-length record “Saturday Evening/Sunday Morning hours.” The music group released their second record “Live at Max’s” in the past due 80’s. The Viletones show up as themselves in the traditional punk documentary “THE FINAL Pogo” as well as the belated sequel “THE FINAL Pogo Jumps Once again.” In 1994 the label Various other Peoples Music released a retrospective compilation record called “A Flavor of Honey.” In 1998 Leckie released the record “What It FEELS AS THOUGH to Destroy” beneath the Viletones name. The existing people of the group are longtime frontman Leckie, drummer Jeff Zurba, and guitarist Steve Scarlet.
