Filmmaker and lifelong Brooklyn local Tommy J. La Sorsa is definitely no stranger to indy-film viewers. His first opportunity, the cult-classic-indy, All Saints Day time (2001), place him within the proverbial map with faithful hardcore cinephiles. After earning the award for Greatest Comedy at both Long Isle and Brooklyn Film Celebrations, All Saints Day time was written by Winstar Television & Genius Entertainment (a subsidiary of Miramax Movies). After its theatrical launch in-may of 2001, All Saints Day time was released world-wide on Dvd and blu-ray and cable. In 2011, after a 10 year hiatus directing broadcast advertisements, La Sorsa returned along with his 2nd film, Circus Maximus. It features an all-star-indy ensemble which includes: Professional/Comedian Mario Cantone; indy-film icon, Kevin Corrigan; “Soprano’s” superstar, Joe Gannascoli; Howard Stern Present co-host Sal “the stockbroker” Governale & Humor Central’s comic feeling, Julian McCullough. Over the festival circuit, Circus Maximus appreciated top billing as the starting night film at NYC’s prestigious CMJ Film Festival. Furthermore, Circus Maximus acquired the honor to be the closing evening film at NYC’s BAFF. Furthermore, ahead of its release time, Circus Maximus was asked to be a part of a special encore festival display at Vision-Fest. Written by Osiris Entertainment, Circus Maximus premiered theatrically in Sept of 2011 and it is available world-wide on Dvd movie, Blu-Ray and wire. Because of the achievement and cult subsequent of most Saints Time and Circus Maximus, Tommy continues to be frequently invited to lecture in Universites and colleges over the NYC region, including: NYU, Columbia School, Brooklyn University & THE INSTITUTION of Visual Arts. In the interim, La Sorsa creates and directs commercials for Speak Media Advertising, a boutique ad agency with a distinct segment concentrate on creating multimedia content for broadcast television.
