After departing the army Tommy Cooper used show business in 1947 therefore started his longer career of comedy derived around visual humour, magic tricks that didn’t function and his trademark red fez, a prop that started from his days in the army. The BBC defined him as an “Unattractive son with an exceptionally unfortunate appearance” within an audition for brand-new talent. While making some 28 displays for ITV over an interval of eight years, he suffered his first coronary attack which forced him to stop his like for cigars. Tommy collapsed in the stage of Her Majesty’s Theater in Apr 1984, go on air. 10 minutes later he previously passed away. He was afterwards cremated and ashes dispersed at Mortlake Crematorium, London.
