Mini Biography

After his acting job faded out, Ty Hardin became a self-proclaimed “freedom fighter” in the 1970s, and led a radical right-wing group known as The Az Patriots, an anti-Semitic/anti-immigrant/anti-black group having a penchant for stockpiling weapons and baiting public officials. After a mid-’70s dispute using the IRS, Hardin opened a “tax protest” school called the normal Regulation Institute, which presented such materials like a “Patriot Handbook” containing “tested cases and solutions to preserve good personal freedom.” In 1983 and 1984 he edited “The Az Patriot”, a regular monthly publication that contains diatribes against authorities officials, demands “Christian patriots” to music group collectively and reprints of content articles from additional anti-Semitic publications. In 1986, carrying out a two-year FBI undercover investigation, agents through the FBI and ATF raided an Az Patriot camp and confiscated a hoard of unlawful weapons and publications from Aryan Country groups and affiliates. Hardin still left Arizona, as well as the group shortly ceased to operate.
