Viktor Stanitsyn was a legendary professional and director from the Moscow Artwork Theatre, most widely known for his function seeing that Prince Ilya Rostov in the Academy Award-winning film Battle and Tranquility (1966) by movie director Sergey Bondarchuk. He was created Viktor Yakovlevich Gyoze (later changed name to Stanitsyn) on, may 2, 1897, in Yekaterinoslav, Russian Empire (now Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine). From 1918 – 1924 he examined performing under Michael Chekhov, following program of Konstantin Stanislavski at 2nd Studio room of Moscow Artwork Theater (MKhAT), graduating in 1924 as an professional. From 1924 – 1976 Viktor Stanitsyn was a permanent person in the troupe at Moscow Art Theatre (MKhAT). There his stage companions had been such renown Russian stars as Konstantin Stanislavski, Olga Knipper-Chekhova, Ivan Moskvin, Alla Tarasova, Anatoli Ktorov, Olga Androvskaya, Angelina Stepanova, Nikolay Khmelyov, Mikhail Yanshin, Aleksei Gribov, Boris Livanov, Mikhail Kedrov, Tag Prudkin, Anastasiya Georgiyevskaya, Vasili Toporkov, Mikhail Bolduman, Pavel Massalsky, and another era of MKhAT stars – Oleg Efremov, Innokentiy Smoktunovskiy, Kira Golovko, Iya Savvina, Anastasiya Voznesenskaya, Irina Miroshnichenko, Oleg Tabakov, Andrey Myagkov, Vladimir Kashpur, Viktor Sergachyov, Vyacheslav Nevinnyy, Sergey Sazontev, Avangard Leontev, Igor Vasilev, among others. Stanitsyn’s performing profession spanned over 50 years, and he was an associate of the plank at Moscow Artwork Theater (MKhAT). His most significant stage works had been such assignments as Molchalin in “Gore ot Uma” (aka.. Woe from Wit), a play by Aleksandr Griboyedov, and Mister Pickwick in a favorite stage adaptation from the Dickens’s novel. Viktor Stanitsyn received the Stalin’s Award five situations (1944, 1947, 1949, 1951, and 1952), was designated People’s Professional from the USSR (1948), and was awarded the Stanislavsky Condition Award of Russia (1974). He was wedded to celebrity Elena Ponsova as well as the few had one little girl, Olga Stanitsina. Stanitsyn passed away of a center failure on Dec 26, 1976, in Moscow, and was laid to rest in Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow, Russia.
